Amigurumi & Crochet Dolls

Amigurumi is the Japanese art of crocheting small stuffed figures, and in our studio it is both the most time-consuming category and the most fun. A large 25–30 cm doll can take 12 to 18 hours of work. The head, body, ears, arms and legs are crocheted separately in spiral rounds, stuffed with polyester fibre, then sewn together one by one.

We crochet tightly, using a hook smaller than the yarn label suggests, so the stuffing never peeks through the stitches. Every part is hand-sewn to the body, and accessories like scarves, bows and hats are stitched on firmly. Our dolls have plastic eyes, so they are meant for ages 3 and up.

Want a doll that looks like your pet, your child's favourite character, or a twist on one from our collection? That's what custom orders are for. Send a reference photo, size and colours, and we'll come back with a sketch and a price before we start.

Questions & answers

Is amigurumi safe for babies?

Our dolls have plastic eyes and some have buttons, so they are meant for ages 3 and up. If the doll is for a baby, message us first so we can talk through safer options.

Can you make a doll from a photo?

Yes. Send 2–3 photos from the front and side. We'll simplify them into an amigurumi style and confirm the details and price with you before we start.

How do I wash an amigurumi?

Hand-wash in cool water with baby soap, press gently without wringing, then air-dry in the shade. Never tumble-dry.

Got your own crochet idea?

Tell us who it's for, their favourite colours and when you need it. We'll make it happen, stitch by stitch.
