Magic Ring: meaning and how to work it
A way to start crocheting in the round with an adjustable loop that pulls tight, leaving no hole in the middle. Almost every amigurumi, hat and flower starts with one.
How to work it
- Wrap the yarn into a loop around your fingers, with the tail behind.
- Insert the hook into the loop, grab the yarn, pull it through and chain 1 to lock it.
- Work single crochet into the loop as many times as the pattern says, usually 6.
- Pull the tail gently until the centre closes completely, then join with a slip stitch.
