Single Crochet: meaning and how to work it

A short, tight stitch that makes dense fabric. It's the main stitch for amigurumi, bags and anything that needs to be sturdy. In UK terms it's called double crochet.

How to work it

  1. Insert the hook into the next stitch.
  2. Yarn over and pull up a loop. You now have 2 loops on the hook.
  3. Yarn over again and pull through both loops.
